Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am excited to have the opportunity to be your teacher. I have been teaching for 20 years, 18 of which have been in LISD. I have a lifelong passion for teaching, and I feel blessed to work at Flower Mound High School. There is no greater joy than helping others pursue their dreams, and a good education is the foundation.
I grew up in Kansas and Arizona and dove into the pursuit of my own passion for teaching at Arizona State University and started my career teaching reading, English, and Citizenship and Responsibility at a middle school in Gilbert, Arizona. When I moved to Texas, I taught 7th Grade English at Lamar Middle School for 4 1/2 years. I then took a hiatus and stayed home with my boys while they were young. Upon my return to education, I worked at FMHS main campus where I taught 11th grade American Literature for 10 years. This year will be my fifth year at the FM 9th Grade Campus.
I am married, and I also live in this community and have four sons who have grown up and attended school here: a graduate of Flower Mound High School who is now serving our country in the United States Marines, a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma, a Marcus graduate who is an ACE in the Special Abilities program at Trietsch Methodist Church, and a senior at Marcus High School.

Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45 - 8:15 A.M.
After School Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, by appointment.
In my spare time, I love to attend various sporting events, especially soccer and basketball. I particularly enjoy sports photography of my sons.
I am also a huge basketball fan, or I might say a LeBron James fan. I love basketball season!
In addition, I enjoy learning new things, reading non-fiction, photography, technology, gardening and landscaping, writing, learning, advocating, and speaking about autism, education, equality, and humanity, eating out, decorating, planning, organizing, travel, skiing, watching movies with my husband, girls' nights out with my friends and co-workers, and spoiling my three rescue cats: Gracie, Buddy, and LJ.
